One of the things that I noticed when I watched people walk in was how comfortable they were with themselves. I probably wouldn’t have been doing that at all, but I saw something that captured my attention. I saw a plus size woman come in with a man, and she seemed to lack…well confidence. It was how she carried herself. She looked lovely in a nice outfit, but her body language said she wasn’t comfortable in herself.

After that, I started to watch other couples. I noticed the awkwardness of teenagers that aren’t quite dating yet, or just starting to date. I saw couples who had a general comfort together, and then I saw another woman.

She was heavy set, and she wasn’t dressed in more than a t-shirt and jeans…but she carried herself in a manner with her head held high, and her shoulders back. She exuded confidence. She was comfortable in her skin, and it showed. It was in her walk, in her purpose at that moment…her body was not her issue at hand.

I didn’t have the slammin’ body of a 19 year old, and it made me nervous. There was even a site that asked me to fill out how much I weighed.
